Choose Your Own Adventure

Hello everybody! This is Liam here! Right below this is my own Choose Your Own Adventure story! If you don’t know how it works, this is the part for you: you’ll need a pencil and a sheet of paper. These utensils are simply to mark where you are in the story. In Choose Your Own Adventure-style stories, you’re the main character. You’ll start in paragraph #1, and whenever you do something you will go to another paragraph. Whenever you go to another paragraph, you simply write that paragraph on your sheet of paper, and continue reading! If you die, no matter–simply go back to the beginning! Enjoy!

You’re lost in the woods. There is a terrible fog. You have no idea where you are, and you can hear footsteps. The world is in civil war. You have one mission. End the war. You are a believer in peace.

You were only five years old when the war started. The South created a robot army and attacked the North. They called themselves the Horde. You won’t say that they didn’t have a good reason, seeing that the North was kidnapping innocent people and using them as slaves. The North fought back. They called themselves the Alliance, for the Alliance had to band together to survive. You were originally from the South. The war has raged on for twenty years.

Right now you are in the South. You are searching for the Sphere. The Sphere is a time machine. It is the only thing that can help you end the war.

Suddenly it happens: a robot killer jumps from the fog. You must have a North-like scent, seeing as you were just in the North, trying to find information on the Sphere. You hide behind a tree, but the robot simply blasts it apart with a grenade. You run. You find a pine tree, and cover yourself in pine so your scent changes.

You continue walking forward when you see it: the Sphere! It’s a perfect ball of metal, sitting there in a clearing. A giant stand holds it up. You walk inside the Sphere when it hits you. You have no idea how to use this thing. Luckily, there are three switches with dates on them. The first one is France, 3061 C.E., the far future. The second is England, 1153 C.E., and the last is the U.S.A, 1876 C.E. You must choose which switch to pull…

If you chose France, 3061 C.E., you find yourself right next what was the Eiffel Tower. It is now the ruin of some ancient war. There is no one in sight. Then it hits you: that war must be the war right now! This is the future of mankind! You must stop the war! You turn back to the Sphere, and realize that the door is locked. You hear a robotic voice coming from the Sphere. It says, “The Sphere is undergoing repairs, please come back in one month.” You now understand that you’re trapped here. You can either explore the ruins of the Eiffel Tower, explore the ruins of the city, or set up camp here.

If you chose England, 1153 C.E., you find yourself next to a lake. A drunk farmer is sitting there. He turns to you, falls over and gasps, “Are you an angel or demon?” then runs away. You see a village in the distance, and past the village a huge fortress. Then it hits you. You realize that, in this age, witches were hunted down. That man might tell the village about you. Knowing your strange powers and the fact that you just appeared out of nowhere, they might think you’re a witch. You turn back to the Sphere and try to open the door. It’s mysteriously locked. You hear a robotic voice coming from the Sphere. It says, “The Sphere is undergoing repairs. Please come back in a month.” You’re stuck here. You have three choices. Go to the castle, stop the drunk man, or go to the village. The choice is up to you.

If you chose U.S.A., 1876 C.E., you find yourself in a large field. Many Native Americans have their tepees set up here. They see you and aim their bows at you. A man in a headdress walks up to you, obviously the chief of this tribe. He says, surprisingly in English, “Drop weapons. We drop ours.” You realize that the taser gun in your pocket must look like a normal gun, even though it only stuns. You turn and attempt to open the door to the Sphere but it is locked. You hear a robotic voice coming from the Sphere. It says, “The Sphere is undergoing repairs. Please come back in one month.” Luckily, the Native Americans don’t hurt you but just stand there. You’re stuck here. You have three choices: drop your weapons, try to talk with them, or stand and fight.

To be continued…
