Here we introduce our newest regular column: the Phoenix Inquirer Restaurant Reviews! The two of us, Liam and Charlie, are searching around the world (or at least the Philadelphia area) for some of the best restaurants around. From an amazing Asian steakhouse to that taco place that everyone is talking about, we’ve found the greatest places to find the most mouth-watering food around.

We’ll start this series off with what critics are calling the best place for Indian food in all of the Main Line: Saffron Indian Kitchen. It’s right on Montgomery Avenue near the MINI car dealer and the shopping district. Saffron Indian Kitchen is a small but wonderful eatery, and has a beautiful interior as well as exterior. Now, let’s get to the food. Saffron has an extraordinary selection of food, including a legendary assortment of naan breads, along with outstanding dishes such as Lamb Korma and Chicken Tikka Masala. They even make their own ice cream!

We decided to interview some people on their thoughts on Saffron:

  • Elliott Gross ‘21 says that the Tandoori Chicken is to die for.
  • Even Evan Sweitzer ‘20, a vegetarian, jokes that he loves the chicken.
  • Charlie Szwartz ‘21 says that their Saffron Rice is “da BOMB”!
  • Liam Giszter ‘21 has decided that nothing is better than their Lamb Korma.
