SNAP Custom Pizza 4 Station Avenue, Ardmore
Welcome to the second ever Phoenix Inquirer Restaurant Review! This is Charlie and Tucker, collaborating yet again. This time, we are traveling all the way to Ardmore to check out one of the best pizza places in the Main Line (or as Tucker calls it, “the main lime”): SNAP Custom Pizza.
SNAP is a mouth-watering takeout pizza place in Ardmore, right across from the train station and down the street from Primavera Pizza Kitchen (another great Italian restaurant that we might review later). But this isn’t just your ordinary pizza place; you get to customize your VERY OWN pizza!
You start with your choice of a regular or gluten-free pizza crust. After that, you can choose one of their sauces, from the classic marinara to a zesty basil pesto. Then, choose the cheeses, like house-made mozzarella, creamy ricotta, and even the strange, blue, alien-made Gorgonzola! I tend to go wild on them, considering I am a huge cheese fan. Next, you can choose from a variety of meats, including pepperoni and spicy veal meatballs. But that’s not all!
Now the fun part; vegetables! (Note the sarcasm by the way.) They have a legendary assortment of the healthy green stuff that many kids around the world hate, like caramelized onions, artichoke hearts, and shredded carrots. Finally, go nuts with a wide selection of oils, syrups, and toppings. You can even put a fried egg on top!
But custom-made pizzas aren’t their only thing. If their selection doesn’t please you, or if you have trouble picking a pizza on your own, they have some delicious pre-made pizzas, including a special Nutella-covered dessert special, where they douse banana slices in cinnamon sugar, plus Nutella and whipped cream on top!
Once you are finished with your special custom-made pizza, you can even enter it into a contest, where the best custom-made pizzas become the pre-made classics!
We decided to interview some people about SNAP’s greatness:
- Tucker Wolfson ‘21 said that SNAP is his second favorite pizza place, and that they are very good with making pizza without sauce and have a wide variety of cheeses.
- Charlie Szwartz ‘21 said that SNAP is his favorite pizza place! His pizza’s highlights are the gluten-free crust, veal meatballs, goat cheese, truffle oil, caramelized onions, and a fried egg on top.
- Calvin Mustokoff ‘22 said that SNAP is REALLY good, and that he could eat two whole pizza pies from SNAP.
I even took a visit to SNAP and took a video of my order so I can show you how it’s done!
Thank you for listening, and enjoy one of the greatest pizza places in the Main Lime!
