State of the Union

On Tuesday, January 30, POTUS Donald Trump delivered his State of The Union address. He delivered his speech beautifully and paused at the perfect times making his speech very dramatic and interesting. He brought national heroes and people of great accomplishments to his speech. Making it a touching speech showing heroics and heartfelt messages. He had a very controlled tone making him appear calm and peaceful. He also delivered a very bi-partisan message that even the democrats applauded. Things quickly fell apart though when he finished his introduction.

Donald Trump lied fourteen times within an hour and half speech; the most any president has lied during any State of the Union speech..

He got boos from grown congressman that acted as though they were watching Riley trying to shoot a basketball. If you put away the fact that many of Trump’s points were lies, he had an excellent speech.

When he brought up jobs he did very well. He stated that we had hit a record high amount of jobs. He failed to mention how much growth there was though. There might have been more jobs but are we still riding on the after-tremors of the Obama Administration?

Another tough topic was immigration. He made some very good comments about giving 1.8 million “Dreamers” a citizenship in return for the funding for infrastructure and the border wall. I felt as though this was a decent compromise but the democrats thought otherwise. They booed and hissed and definitely did not restrain their voices from being heard.

As I was watching the the event last night I noticed that not all of the Supreme Court Justices were there. With an extra credit assignment given by Ms. E I learned that there were also many representatives missing. Eleven to be exact. This is not a new thing, it just has never happened in such magnitude. With Obama two representatives skipped out. With all that was just written about the speech I want to say congratulations to the president for his best speech yet.
