FCS Fall Sports Recap

The first rotation of sports are over and went very well.  The choices for middle school fall sports were boys’ soccer, girls’ soccer, cross country, girls’ tennis, water polo, girls’ field hockey, and flag football. Every day from 2:00 to 3:00 pm everyone was deeply invested in something athletic. Each sport had both home and away games except flag football which plays games within the school. Kyle Brady (8th grade) who did boys’ soccer shared, “The first season is always a great experience, especially for the 6th graders.”

With the year just starting it can be hard to get into the flow of having sports. 6th graders and many new students who are learning Friends’ Central’s way of sports handled it exceptionally well. Ms. Crowley stated, “Despite the challenges that were had with the weather, we had a successful fall season of athletics. Looking forward to continued success as we move indoors.” All sports are indoors for the winter season. Therefore, the weather will not interfere with the sports practices and games.

As for injuries there were very few, making for a great season of sports. Dev Gupta (8th grade) exclaimed, “With fall sports ending, I really enjoyed the season. Also, I know that both the winter and spring sports seasons will be even better.” Winter sports have started and have already gone into the first few games. Everyone in the athletic services here at FCS hope for a great winter season.
