Review: Titan XP Graphics Card

The Titan X Pascal, considered the best graphics card you can buy… just got better. On April 6, 2017, Nvidia announced a new addition to their enthusiasts grade GPU family, the Titan XP. The Titan XP is incredibly fast and runs cool while doing so but that comes at a very, very, high cost. The Titan XP runs faster and a little cooler than its older counterpart, the Titan X Pascal, but besides the faster performance and slightly better cooling there isn’t that much different between the two. Today we will be looking at the specs, benchmarks, price and performance of the new Titan XP. The Titan XP is the best GPU on the market, and its spec are, as Elijah would say, BLAZINGLY FAST. Titan XP runs on the same GP102 die as the Titan X Pascal, but sports a fully unlocked version of the processor. The GP102 is…

SpaceX SES-10 Launch

SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 rocket on March 30 successfully carrying the SES-10 satellite to space. It was a typical launch, using the Falcon 9 FT booster. The only difference, and it’s a big one, is that this particular Falcon 9 was already used. That’s right. As you may know, SpaceX has been landing and saving their Falcon 9 boosters for a while now, but this is the first time one has been reused. Not only did the payload get to GTO successfully, but the booster landed again on SpaceX’s barge drone ship, Of Course I Still Love You. This marks a huge step in rocket reusability. Typical launches cost around $62 million. Musk estimated that around 70% of that cost was in the booster, and about 1% of the booster’s cost is the fuel. Eventually, the customer would only need to pay of the upper stage and the fuel,…

AMD, in the past, has only been used for budget computers but now AMD could overtake intel in the medium to high priced processors. Today we will be discussing AMD’s approach and how they are starting to distance themselves from there regularly “budget” CPU’s. The Ryzen lineup contains three new processors, the 1700, 1700X and 1800X. All three processors outperform the latest Intel lineup. They all pack 8 cores/16 threads, and are all overclockable. Let’s start with the 1700. The 1700 costs $329, in line with the high-end mainstream processors…

Review: Portal 2

In this review of Portal 2, we’ll rate each aspect of gameplay on a scale of 1-10, then discuss our opinions of the game. *Disclaimer* We will not be covering Portal in this article, as we find Portal 2 to be more fun and entertaining. Just a quick disclaimer. Gameplay: 9/10 Plot:8/10 Design/Characters: 7/10 Soundtrack: 9/10 Creativity: 10/10 Gameplay (9/10): Portal 2’s gameplay is fantastic and has better than some games made recently (*cough cough* No Man’s Sky *cough cough*). Portal 2’s gameplay ties into its creativity because the idea of shooting portals and progressing through puzzle rooms, or test chambers, while listening to an evil robot is clever and a new type of game. The genre of Puzzle/Story! The co-op of Portal 2 is a bit lackluster compared to the main story. The co-op delivers the main idea of gameplay but doesn’t deliver the personality or creativity of the main story…
