This Week’s Topic: Should middle school sports be optional? I think that sports should be optional and here is why! Many students have asked me to share my opinion on this topic so here it is. I do personally think sports should be optional because not many people enjoy sports and could have courses or additional classes to fill the time. That could either be a study hall, a course such as Financial Literacy, or like a book club. Sports take up time when students have lots of homework or would just rather be doing something else during that time. Having to do sports at the end of the school can be draining and tiring. Carvel’s Corner (Oct. 6 Edition)

This Week’s Topic: Should middle school students be allowed to eat in the cafeteria? This afternoon, I spoke with fellow students, Izzy Marien-Efron (8th), Sammi Smith (8th), Max Copelovitch (7th), Gabrielle Davidow (6th), Cobrin Stanish (8th), Aarin McIntosh (8th), Elle von Andreae (7th), and Jason Polykoff. There have been two very popular opinions. Half of the students believe that we should be allowed to eat in the cafeteria, because eating outside can most times be very uncomfortable with bugs, weather,  and several other reasons. Then, the other half believe that eating lunch inside the cafeteria is not the safest thing to do because being in a closed space with many people with everyone’s mask off while eating is dangerous. They believe that the safest thing to do is to be outside so we can be as safe as possible. Personally I agree with both sides but I really do hate…
