NBA: Cavaliers Trade

The NBA has become very exciting with all of these trades. Players went all over the place and after all of the trades here are the final outcomes. Blake Griffin who was a long time veteran of the Los Angeles Clippers has been traded to the Detroit Pistons. Although this trade was very big, this is not what everyone is talking about. The Cleveland Cavaliers traded away basically all of their team. First, the Cavs traded Dwayne Wade back to the Miami Heat. Second, the Cavs traded Isaiah Thomas to the Los Angeles Lakers for Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance Jr. The next part of these trades is where it gets really confusing. The Cavaliers traded Derrick Rose and Jae Crowder to the Utah Jazz in order to acquire Rodney Hood. There was then a three team deal between the Cavaliers, the Utah Jazz, and the Sacramento Kings. Roy Halladay Dies in Plane Crash

     Roy Halladay died last Tuesday when a personal plane he was flying crashed into the Gulf Coast. He sent out three different distress calls and the Pasco county (Florida) police department arrived shortly after. They found his body in shallow water near land. His wife Brandy Halladay fought against him getting his pilot license but she eventually relented. He was seen taking photos of himself and his plane as part of the ICON A5 marketing campaign. The lead flight tester also had a fatal plane crash during testing. Roy was a two-time Cy Young Award-winning pitcher who retired from baseball nearly four years ago. During his 16-year career, which included eight All-Star selections, he played for the Blue Jays and the Phillies. Both teams give their thoughts and prayers.

NBA Update

The NBA season just started in October, and started with a very bad injury. The first game of the season was Cleveland Cavaliers vs. the Boston Celtics. The power forward for the Boston Celtics named Gordon Hayward suffered a dislocated ankle and fractured tibia. The final score of this game was 102 – 99. The Cavaliers went on to win the game. This game was a lot bigger than it seemed. Kyrie Irving was just traded from the Cavaliers to the Celtics. Lebron James was great friends with Kyrie. Lebron and Kyrie were on the same court for the first time in awhile. They were the biggest dynamic duo since Shaq and Kobe Bryant, until a series of events between Kyrie and LeBron that made Kyrie leave the Cavs. Kyrie got traded to the Celtics and went on to say, “I don’t care what people think.” In other news the…

USA Men’s National Team Out Of 2018 World Cup

    This is the first time USA didn’t make the the World Cup since 1986. After the loss to Trinidad & Tobago, they came in 5th place behind Honduras in 4th, with Mexico in 1st place, Costa Rica in 2nd, and Panama in 3rd. USA finished with 12 points (1 point behind Honduras), with a +4 goal difference. Trinidad & Tobago beating the USA was a huge upset, because Trinidad & Tobago do not have a huge soccer reputation, as the only trophy that they have won is the Caribbean Cup, and that was only once.      The reason the USA getting knocked out of the World Cup is such a big deal is, that the USA have a big reputation for making it to the round of 16 in a lot of competitions. MLS & Local Hockey Previews

MLS (Major League Soccer) Predictions Myles will be predicting the two biggest matches of the week. Game Prediction 1: Orlando City vs FC Dallas This will be a close game. Orlando City is 3 points behind FC Dallas and has 16 fewer goals than Dallas. Orlando has had a bad start to the season, with only 35 points and in 10th place. FC Dallas, on the other hand, is in 8th place and with 38 points. After a thumping defeat at the hands of Minnesota United, FC Dallas is looking to come back with a win against Orlando. Orlando has a pretty bad record in the MLS so far, as they’ve only won 9 games out of the 30 they’ve played. There will most likely be a red card somewhere in this match. The game will be close, but FC Dallas will eventually be victorious against Orlando, 3 – 1….
