18th Anniversary of 9/11/01

To all the people who gave their lives, thank you.

On one fateful day at the World Trade Center, Manhattan, terrorists were ready to take off from airports. They needed to make sure that it was the closest airstrip, what they wanted to do was take off, turn around and hit the twin towers.

On that day, thousands of people went to the World Trade Center, not knowing what they were in for. At 8:46 the first plane hit. Most people thought that it was an accident. Then the second plane hit and then they knew it was an attack. Originally two planes were heading for the Pentagon, one for the White House, and two were headed for the Twin Towers.

The first plane to hit the Twin Towers number was flight 11(a United Airlines plane). It hit the North Tower. On flight 11 the flight crew knew that they had been hijacked and called the FBI. The FBI notified USAF And even before the Air Force could get their planes up, the attack was over. Towns like Yardley had people who worked in the Twin Tower, and the pilot named Victor Saracini was the original pilot of flight 11. Like many people on the airplanes, they didn’t know that day would be there last.

The second plane,  flight number 175, hit the South Tower.

Ironically 911 was the number of thousands of people called on 9/11.
