Mario Party Superstars Review

Mario Party Superstars Review

By Jonah Casel ‘27

I’ve had Mario Party Superstars for about a week now. It’s a fun game! I definitely recommend it. 8/10, not as good as Super Mario Party. I have a special place in my heart for Super Mario Party.

Anyway, Mario Party Superstars is like Mario Party Top 100, but actually good! They picked really good minigames to bring back some of my favorites, Booksquirm, Pushy Penguins, and THE ELITE FACE LIFT! (In this minigame you get to stretch Bowser’s face. What could be better?) They also added sports minigames and I will never stop playing the hockey minigames. (There are two of them!)

The boards are pretty cool too. So far, I’ve only played on Yoshi’s tropical island, but that one’s pretty good. The only thing I don’t like about it is Bowser. I wish that instead of making you buy something from him for a lot of coins, he would force you into a Bowser minigame. Later, I’m going to try out Space Land. That one seems like it could be either really cool, or really underwhelming. With the Mario Party franchise, I’m really not sure.

The characters could use a bit of work. In Super Mario Party, (The model of a 10/10 game) there are so many characters, like Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, and my personal favorite, MONTY MOLE! (Just kidding, I play Luigi.) In Superstars, there are only ten, cutting out epic characters such as Pom-Pom, Goomba, Hammer Bro, and Dry Bones! At least Birdo is back in the game.
