Fortnite Season 6

Fortnite season 6 started a few weeks ago, and seeing how the cube event is going, this season looks promising. In this article I will go over new locations and skins in Fortnite Season 6. Skins Every season we have had an assortment of amazing skins. This season we seem to have a great set of Skins in the Battlepass. Calamity (Gold) Calamity is one of the first two skins that you get when you buy the battlepass. Calamity is a cowgirl that you can level up 6 times to change the look. DJ Yonder (purple) The iconic Fortnite llama finally gets its own skin, but with a catch. The skin is basically a Fortnite llama with headphones, with a disco vibe. Giddy-Up (purple) A more disliked skin of the season, Giddy-Up is a default skin riding a llama. This is supposed to be a nod at the famous blow-up…

Review: Super Smash Brothers Ultimate

This review is intended for readers who are already familiar with the Super Smash Brothers franchise.  In Super Smash Bros Ultimate everyone is here (as they will constantly remind you even though to date Waluigi is not a playable character so 0/10 no Waluigi). Actually the developers changed a lot of the final smashes and my favorite character is Mega Man and his smash art was changed to add Bass and Rockman. New characters were added such as Snake, Pichu, Daisy, and around 15,000,000 new Fire Emblem characters. Ice Climbers were added and the blue Ice climber dies individually. Now all amiibos for Super Smash Bros Ultimate characters work like wedding suit Mario. All of the extremely cool looking combos are still here but they are easier to do and do not require a 6th finger. All in all the new game looks cleaner, more fluid, and more expansive. Like…

Spongebob Cancellation Rumors

Your neighborhood reporter, Poyraz Ozer is reporting from Bikini Bottom. There are rumors, or should we say… there were rumors that the Spongebob Squarepants Show would be cancelled in 2018. The question is: “Is the Spongebob Squarepants Show REALLY ending????!!!!!! No worries fans, it is only a hoax. It seems even Bikini Bottom is not immune to fake news and hoax tweets. There was a fake tweet circulating and saying that the show would be cancelled in 2018. Do not worry, The Krusty Krab isn’t out of business just yet. According to Entertainment Weekly, Nikelodeon has ordered 26 more episodes of the show to renew it through 2019. An identical Spongebob Squarepants cancellation hoax swept social media in 2013 and in 2016. Spongebob adventures with Patrick, Squidward, Sandy, Mr. Krab’s, Plankton, and Pearl will continue. Now, as Mr. Krab’s would say, “Get back to work!” Friends Central students’ and staffs’…

Carson Wentz Returns

Carson Wentz returned to playing in the Eagles’ home game on Sunday, September 23rd to send them off with a win. What will the Eagles do with the quarterback on the field again? Wentz was out for most of last season after he tore his ACL. FCS student Elio Spagnuolo said that he was very happy and excited about Wentz’s return. The Eagles played a game against the Tennessee Titans and lost in overtime, which is a big surprise. History teacher Mr. Chagan said that he was optimistic and extremely happy about the return, but he admitted that there are still many problems with the Eagles including many injuries and the offensive line needs more practice. He also surprised me by saying that if back-up quarterback Nate Sudfeld had to come in to the game at some point he thought that Sudfeld is an upgrade from Nick Foles athletically because…

Elon Musk Resigns

Elon Musk, Tesla´s famed founder, CEO, and previous chairman resigned as chairman after a series of incidents that made bad press. A common question is what is the difference between a CEO (chief executive officer) and a chairman? Before you read forward you should understand the difference between a CEO and a chairman. In a review, a CEO is the face of the company and ensures the company’s efficiency and stability. A chairman is more concerned with pleasing the stockholders, and focuses more on counseling. The resignation was triggered by many issues adding up and in the end a lawsuit about fraud. Weeks ago Musk started talking about making Tesla private; he raised the stock prices in hopes people would sell their shares and he could but them back. Two weeks ago, Elon Musk was legally smoking marijuana. Although it was legal, the backlash was still major. Share prices dropped…

Echo Hill 2018

ECHO HILL was an experience some people enjoyed less than others, and some people loved it. There’s a not-so-fine line between Echo Hill and home, and crossing that line is a bold move. But really, let’s venture in depth, on everyone’s opinions on some of the different activities and classes at Echo Hill, and the enjoyment they had to offer. These are opinions from 7th grade students and teachers. SCANOEING MR.CHAGAN – “Mr. Barry’s favorite class is probably the scanoeing…that’s not my favorite.” SPENCER KIM – “Falling into the swamps was not fun, and the bugs: not good.” JAMES PENDRAK – “I did enjoy scanoeing ’cause I’ve always been familiar with canoeing and kayaking and being in a boat and paddling with others and I also thought the fact that there were three canoes combined, I thought that was really cool.” BAY STUDIES THEO SCHENK – “Well, I went on…

Adventure Day Report

ADVENTURE DAY Last month 6th and 8th grade participated in Adventure Day. You could have picked one of these three options: biking adventure, the Montco gym or canoeing. Sadly the biking got rained out so the biking adventure went to the gym. There were pros and cons to each adventure but both were fun in their own ways.   GYM The gym was about 45 minutes away on the bus but felt longer. The bus was loud and did not have an air conditioner but it was a chilly day so it did not matter. When the bus arrived we all got out. The gym had three parts: an indoor soccer field a basketball court and a rock wall/ trampoline area. First the group played a round of capture the flag, then reverse tag, and after that we split into three groups. The groups rotate between multiple stations there was…

Trump At The UN

Since the late twentieth century the office of the President of the United States has been respected. Throughout the world the American presidency and democracy was a sign of hope and most countries respected the person in that office. On the 25th of September that changed. The leader of the free world was met with an outburst of laughter at the United Nations General Assembly meeting after stating, ¨In less than two years, my administration has accomplished more than almost any administration in the history of our country.¨ He then followed up by saying, ¨so true.¨ The president was talking to the U.N about the change there has been in the world, how with short conversations the North Koreans they have made ¨encouraging measures that few could have imagined.” He mentioned how India has made strong moves to diminish poverty. While these accomplishments are great, President Trump phrased them in…

Planet X Discovery

Some of you may know about the elusive Planet X or Planet 9. Scientists have been looking for this Planet X for years now, and this discovery may lead to a new path to Planet X. Planet X is a planet that NASA has said may exist, it is 10 times the mass of the earth. While looking for this planet scientists have found many small objects but this one is extreme.   2015 TG387,  a.k.a. The Goblin, is a dwarf planet approximately 186.4 miles across, about 2.5 the distance to the sun of Pluto, which is affected by Planet X. The Goblin was discovered in October 2015, but to confirm its existence it took scientists three years. For Goblin to go around the sun one time it takes about 40,000 Earth years. For Planet X, there are five main things that prove the existence of this massive planet….

New Flyers Mascot: Gritty

Last Monday for the first time in over forty years the Philadelphia Flyers revealed a new mascot. His name is “Gritty.” What he is something I can’t answer because I don’t know. In my opinion he looks like Animal (the drummer) from The Muppets. Some people say that it is a bit creepy. I think that it just takes some time to get used to. The first time you look at him you’ll think, “What is this abomination? Is this a joke? How are the kids going to like this?” And I can completely agree with you because that’s what I thought when I saw him for the first time. Since I will be attending the preseason game against the Rangers, hopefully I’ll be able to him in person, and then I can really give my honest opinion. Additionally there is a lot of marketing work that goes into making…
