Shallcross Renovation Exclusive

We recently interviewed Mrs. Quinn and Mr. Terrell to get you, the community, more information on the renovation of our shared community space in Shallcross Hall. Mrs. Quinn shared that the newly renovated building will have more glass so that visitors on tours will have an easier way to look into the classrooms without disrupting them. People will be able to look into our community from the outside, and it will be easier for folks to visit. Mrs. Quinn says that this change will “add more light and air” to the dining hall. The cafeteria may have a double height space and the architects are also thinking of making separate food lines so that we do not have to wait as long for the same delicious food!  The cafeteria should also have a cozier feel so that students are not compelled to sit on the art displays currently in the…

If not, then this is the part for you. In choose-your-own-adventure novels, you play the main character and you make the decisions. One wrong move can lead to your dismay, or even your demise. Here are my top five choose-your-own-adventure novels. (P.S. I have only read five.) 5 The Keep of the Lich-Lord by Dave Morris and Jamie Thomson This book is available on the App Store for $5, and in book form for a lot more money (it’s a collectible). App Unwrap: Duolingo

Foreign languages are hard to learn. But what if you could devote only 15 minutes a day to learning a language, and slowly gain fluency? Like everything, there’s an app for that–and that app is Duolingo. What does it do? Duolingo is an app that allows you to devote a short amount of time each day for a language lesson. Now that may sound like another class and more work for you to do, but the lessons are structured pretty much like games. This app makes me want to come back to learn German (the language I’m learning) everyday and I feel a twinge of sadness when I miss my daily lesson. However, along with German, Duolingo offers Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Irish, Danish, Swedish, and Turkish. Best of all, it’s free, and there are no in-app purchases. The lessons the app offers are wide and varied, but let…
