Facts, Not Fumbles: Week 8

Football Week 8 Jonathan: 5-2 Max: 4-3 Noah: 4-3 Jonah: 6-1 Headlines this week Patrick Mahomes is terrible!? Lions do everything, still lose!  Jonathan Gannon is so bad, Eagles fans are begging for Chip Kelly! Giants have finally found someone worse than them!  The AFC South is the new NFC East. The NFC East is still the NFC Least. The Bears need Montgomery back, maybe at QB!? Jackson Mahomes needs to chill. Josh Norman’s career is just to give people highlights. Cooper Kupp is really good at football.   Eagles vs. Lions by Anonymous Source (This fan is not an eagles fan which is why we kept them anonymous) Both of these teams are trash. The Lions lost all of their games. They can not win a single game. They are going to go winless like what they did in 2008. That only happened three other times, to the Browns…

Facts, Not Fumbles: Week 9

NFL week 9 Texans vs. Dolphins (Noah) Browns vs. Bengals (Jonathan)    Texans vs. Dolphins  By Noah Liebman ‘27 Welcome to the 1-7 bowl where the teams are bad but the game will be worse. The Dolphins won by 1 point in week 1 against the Patriots since then they have lost to the Falcons, Colts and Jaguars. Yeah they lost to the Jaguars. They couldn’t trade for Deshaun Watson which might have won them one more game, maybe two. Now the Dolphins are hopeless. The Texans also haven’t won since week 1. Their QB is Davis Mills. They couldn’t trade Deshaun Watson at the trade deadline. They might never win a game again if they lose this week. At some point the NFL should do the right thing and deband the Texans and add an expansion team because the Texans probably couldn’t beat most college teams. I think the…

Carvel’s Corner (Nov. 3 Edition)

This Week’s Topic: Should middle school sports be optional? I think that sports should be optional and here is why! Many students have asked me to share my opinion on this topic so here it is. I do personally think sports should be optional because not many people enjoy sports and could have courses or additional classes to fill the time. That could either be a study hall, a course such as Financial Literacy, or like a book club. Sports take up time when students have lots of homework or would just rather be doing something else during that time. Having to do sports at the end of the school can be draining and tiring. We should have the option to select another class or club during that period that could keep us occupied. I’m not suggesting that sports shouldn’t be an option because those who want to do sports…

Elle’s Food Review: FCS Bake Sale!

FCS Bake Sale! By: Elle von Andreae ’27 On October 27th and 28th there was a bake sale at Friends Central School! The bakesale was led by Mr. German and Flammkuchen  during recess and lunch. All of the money from the delicious rainbow desserts was donated to The Attic Youth Center, they raised over a thousand dollars for this organization. This bakesale was fun for everyone and brought our community together to bond over our love for sweets. My personal favorite deserts were the m&m blondies. They were the perfect brownies with an explosion of flavor from the m&ms. And the candy corn shaped and colored rice krispies. The crunch from the rice cereal and the sweetness and consistency that the melted marshmallows had was very flavorful. Everything was very covid safe with all the treats packed in individual bags. Most of the treats were allergy friendly so everyone was…

2021-2021 NHL Preview

Written by: Jonah Casel ’27 Jonah’s NHL Preview As the NHL season is starting, me and countless other hockey fans are getting very excited for the season to come. There are many players looking to show how good they can be, and every team is already looking for the magical playoff spot that only few get. Here is my opinion on all of the NHL teams at the start of this hockey season.   Anaheim Ducks The Ducks are in an interesting spot. They have multiple good rookies, such as Trevor Zegras and Jamie Drysdale, but other than that, the core of the team is exactly the same as last season! The top three forwards are fine, but after that, they’ve got nothing! Arizona Coyotes The Arizona Coyotes might not be in Arizona after this year. Their fans just don’t come to their games, and they’re going downhill. They had…

2021-2022 NBA Preview

Noah’s NBA preview for newspaper Written by: Noah Liebman ’27   Champions: The Bucks I think that the Bucks will win the championship this year because of one word: Giannis. I think he is the best player in the NBA and I don’t think there is anyone who can stop him. He is only 26 and he was on the NBA 75 list which listed the top 75 players in NBA history. If he could shoot from the three point line a bit better he would be one of the greatest NBA players of all time. The Bucks supporting cast is also really good and they are a very deep team.   MVP: Paul George  I know this seems like a long shot but I think with Kawhi out for most or all of the year I think Paul George will join the NBA’s elite. I think he can beat…
