Stranger Things: Season 2, Episode 2

Episode two, Trick or Treat Freak, follows four storylines, Eleven’s time in the forest and subsequent meeting with Hopper, Hoppers investigation of the poisoned farms and time with Eleven, Will, Mike, Lucas, Dustin, and Max’s activities during Halloween, and the turmoil between Steve and Nancy over Barbara’s death which reaches its climax during a Halloween Party. It is one of the defining episodes of the series as it introduces some of the important season conflicts. Trick or Treat Freak was one of my favorite episodes in this season and certainly one that has best kept in my thoughts afterwards. It sets up many of the major plot points in the season as well many of the most intriguing character relationships. I think it can certainly be considered an iconic episode of stranger things that perfectly follows up upon the previous episode MADMAX and leads into the following episode The Pollywog….

MANNA Pies

Before the holidays at Friends Central, many people and advisories bought MANNA pies, whether for advisory parties or for their Thanksgiving Dinner. MANNA enrolls 4,200 volunteers to feed and nourish people (and their family) suffering from AIDS/HIVs, cancer, and diabetes. They provide a meals on Thanksgiving day for people in need. This year they got $240,000. At Friends’ Central, Magistra, her daughter Annie and Dr. Scapik are running the program. Magistra sent an email to the teachers. It goes as follows: “The MANNA pie sale touches close to home for my family as MANNA started in my church kitchen in the 1980s as a result of a sermon my dad preached not long before he died. FCS leads schools in the area in our Thanksgiving pie sales. We are already up to 106 pies sold with a goal of 169.” In an interview with Dr. Scapik she said: “We have…

On October 27, 2017 a wave of excitement rushed through Friends’ Central Middle School. Yes, this was the day…the long awaited release of Stranger Things Season 2! This is the first chapter in an ongoing adventure as 8th graders guide you through an overview of Stranger Things, and you can trust me, the reviews will only get stranger as time goes on. WARNING! Pokemon Ultra Sun/Moon Review + New Pokemon Strategy

Hi everyone! Seth and Oliver here with a look at Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon! Spoilers ahead In Pokemon ultra sun and ultra moon the game is now largely focusing on Necrozma and the ultra beasts and three new ultra beasts, known by their codenames UB-Assembly, UB-Adhesive, and UB-Burst, and their real names (datamined), Stakataka (Assembly), Poipole (UB-Adhesive), and Blacephalon (UB-Burst). Poipole actually can evolve into Nagandel, the first Ultra Beast to do so. Stakataka AKA UB-Assembly Stakataka is a Rock/Steel type Pokemon. In one word: Defense. It has a base 210 Defense stat. However, it has a bad defensive ability in Beast Boost. Beast Boost raises your highest stat (Defense) by one stage when you knock out an opposing Pokemon. However, it’s a wall. It will stall with Toxic which doesn’t trigger this. Also, it has a 4x weakness to not one but two common physical attacking types…

Where are the Infinity Stones?

As many of you know the Avengers: Infinity War trailer dropped recently, and the hype has been HUGE. This is not going to be a review article but an article on the biggest question in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)… where are the Infinity Stones? There are six Stones, the Mind Gem, Soul Gem, Space Gem, Reality Stone, Power Stone, Time Gem. Today I will be going over the known locations of the Infinity Stones. Let’s start with the Space Stone. The Space Stone is inside the Tesseract. We first see it in the post credit scene of Thor and then fully in Captain America: The First Avenger and in many subsequent MCU movies . The Sixth Grade Derivative Project

For the last couple weeks, the sixth grade has been working on the biggest project of the sixth grade year. We had been given a word in Latin ( example Sonus – Sound) to study, and find words that derive from it, in different languages. For 3 days we worked on finding the derivatives of the Latin word we were given. After that, we started to map out the project idea for the biggest part of the project. A few days after that, we had to share our ideas with our classmates and they had to give feedback. Than the building process began, we got our materials and started building. We had 11 school days to build our projects, one of the days was a full day of only working on our derivative project. The presentation was in Room 10, we set up tables along the perimeter of Room 10….

Stranger Things Season 1 Review Pt. 2

Hey guys, at this point you have probably read my part 1 of the season one review. This one should be a little bit longer, but then again, I am covering more material. Let’s get into it! After several phone calls from Will, and his music turning on in his room, his mother Joyce strings up fairy lights and uses them to communicate with him (as he can turn them on and off somehow). Will manages to speak to his Mother, revealing he’s alive; but Joyce’s hopes are crushed when Will’s supposed body is found in the quarry. Sheriff Hopper has been searching for Will, believing first that he’d just run off to his father’s house; but then realising it was something more sinister. Hopper then visits Hawkins Lab, where he was shown some security footage to prove Will had never been there, which then turns out to be doctored….

NBA Update: November

76ers The 76ers seem to be an on/off team. Some nights they can’t seem to make shots and make many mistakes. On other nights they seem to make many shots and have very great ball movement. On a few games they have won by very small margins. The 76ers aren’t a bad team, and they aren’t a good team. It is very hard to predict what they will do next. The 76ers do have some good players in Ben Simmons, Markelle Fultz, and Joel Embiid. The only problem is Ben and Markelle are rookies. Defending Champions The Golden State Warriors recently lost to the Memphis grizzlies 110 – 101. This game was another stunning loss. In the fourth quarter the referee didn’t call something that Steph Curry wanted him to call. Kevin Durant went on to yell at the ref and Steph Curry threw his mouthpiece. Both of these players…

Roy Halladay Dies in Plane Crash

     Roy Halladay died last Tuesday when a personal plane he was flying crashed into the Gulf Coast. He sent out three different distress calls and the Pasco county (Florida) police department arrived shortly after. They found his body in shallow water near land. His wife Brandy Halladay fought against him getting his pilot license but she eventually relented. He was seen taking photos of himself and his plane as part of the ICON A5 marketing campaign. The lead flight tester also had a fatal plane crash during testing. Roy was a two-time Cy Young Award-winning pitcher who retired from baseball nearly four years ago. During his 16-year career, which included eight All-Star selections, he played for the Blue Jays and the Phillies. Both teams give their thoughts and prayers.
